CLEAR ANSWERS. REAL PEOPLE.

DistroBolt help centre.

Understand distribution, prepare a release and choose the right next step. These answers explain the public offer; your accepted service quote and applicable account terms govern an individual order.

What does DistroBolt do?

DistroBolt distributes music to supported streaming and download platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. You prepare and submit releases through your artist account, with personal help from the team when you need it. Store eligibility and rights checks still apply. Marketplace offers optional creative and professional work alongside distribution; it is not part of the distribution subscription. Start with the distribution plans if you need delivery, or Marketplace if you need help creating release assets.

How much does distribution cost?

Essential has annual fees of €3.98 for each single and €8.98 for each EP or album. Premium is €9 monthly or €69 yearly and replaces those annual per-release fees while active. Both include the same distribution features, with 90% of revenue retained by the artist and 10% received by DistroBolt. Marketplace purchases are separate. Check the complete applicable terms and any tax treatment before paying. An individual label agreement is discussed separately. Review monthly and yearly Premium.

Do I get instant access when I apply or pay?

An access application is reviewed; it is not automatic approval. DistroBolt states that applications are reviewed within 24 hours. Apply before subscribing if you do not have an approved account. Premium payments are verified and activation is currently handled manually, with confirmation from the team. Billing starts at payment, so payment does not mean instant distribution access. Use the email address associated with your approved account, and contact us if you are unsure rather than paying twice. Apply for access.

What should I prepare for a new release?

Collect your final audio, artwork, accurate titles, artist roles, track order, credits and rights information. Check the original release date and existing ISRCs when re-releasing a recording. Provide the correct artist-profile links where requested, especially when artists share a name. Enter your intended label name for the release. The dashboard's current upload specifications take precedence over assumptions about file formats or artwork dimensions. Ask the team to check unclear rights or metadata before submission; do not invent information to get past a required field.

Can I move music from another distributor?

Yes. You can transfer releases yourself through your DistroBolt account without buying transfer help. Normal distribution plan charges and royalty terms still apply. If you would rather have our team do the work, request an assessment for optional paid assistance. Do not remove the old delivery first. Prepare an inventory, original assets, existing track ISRCs, original dates and artist-profile links. The current dashboard process uses a re-release entry with the existing ISRC for each unchanged recording. Submit and check the new delivery before coordinating the older delivery's removal. Correct matching supports continuity, but streams, playlist placements, historical data and delivery dates are not guaranteed. Follow the transfer guide, or ask us to handle the transfer.

How do free royalty splits work?

You can agree distribution-royalty shares with collaborators, such as producers, musicians and managers. Split recipients can have free accounts; they do not need to buy a distribution subscription simply to receive a share. Agree the participants, percentages and releases covered before setup. Example: after DistroBolt's standard 10%, €100 leaves €90 in artist royalties; splitting that amount equally gives two collaborators €45 each. A split statement is not a guarantee of a monthly bank transfer. Relevant payout requirements and reporting timing still apply. See more split examples.

Do I need to activate white label?

No separate white-label switch is required for Essential or Premium. White label is included automatically. Remember to enter your own intended label name whenever you prepare a new release, and check the release details before submitting. If the wrong name has already been delivered, contact DistroBolt about the correction process. Do not assume that changing an account setting will automatically update a release already live in every store.

Can I distribute to Beatport?

You can apply for Beatport through DistroBolt. Tell our team if you are already approved or already have a relevant account, so we can check the details for delivery. Approval is not guaranteed, and the release must meet the applicable requirements. Beatport inclusion in the distribution offer is not a promise that every genre, label or release will be accepted. Contact our team about Beatport with your label details and any existing approval.

How do AI and human mastering differ here?

AI Mastering opens inside your DistroBolt artist account. You preview the result there and buy the download through Masterchannel, currently USD 5 per download; it is not a Marketplace checkout purchase. Human Mastering is a separate creative service, currently €49 per project, with scope confirmed before payment. Its stated delivery is 1–5 business days from the agreed start after payment and usable materials, including one consolidated revision round. Request human mastering, or open AI Mastering from your account.

How do Marketplace requests and delivery work?

Selecting a creative service starts an assessment request, not an immediate purchase. We confirm the deliverables, total price, timing, revisions and what you must provide in a written quote before payment. Keep the private status link from your receipt secure. It lets you follow the request and the agreed work; anyone with the link may see that customer status. Read the quote's cancellation terms before accepting. If you need an update, contact DistroBolt with your reference. Ordinary customer support stays free.

How does the referral reward work?

Invite a friend, colleague, artist or collaborator. For qualifying royalty revenue during the agreed one-year referral period, the referred artist retains 90%, the referrer receives 3 percentage points and DistroBolt retains 7%. The reward comes from DistroBolt's normal 10%; it does not reduce the artist's 90%. For €100 of qualifying revenue, that is €90, €3 and €7 respectively. Allocation and payouts are handled through the distribution system. Confirm the referral and exact dates with the team before setup. This is not a discount on every Marketplace purchase.

Where can I see royalties or get human help?

Use your account's royalty statements for reported income. Streaming and social analytics help you understand activity, but estimates and royalty statements are different reports. Availability and reporting delays depend on the underlying services. Ask DistroBolt if you need help interpreting the figures, changing a plan or preparing a release. Never send your password or payment-card details in Bolt chat. Email the team, or book the free 30-minute introduction.
