DISTROBOLT

DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES

AI volume, duplicate recordings and release quality

Review every release for genuine identity, rights, metadata and musical quality, regardless of whether AI was used. Generating more files does not create a reason to publish near-duplicates or misrepresent an artist’s catalogue.

Use a recording inventory

Map each proposed master to its source, version, purpose and identifier. Check whether two entries are the same recording with superficial title or export differences. Keep legitimate edits and new performances documented. Do not treat a new filename or pitch shift as proof that a duplicate has become a distinct release.

Read the current spam policy

Spotify describes action against patterns including mass uploads, duplicates and metadata manipulation. Its policy review is not limited to one production tool. Do not invent a safe daily volume or a way to avoid detection. Assess actual release purpose and current provider requirements instead.

Keep identity and promotion truthful

Do not deliver to an unrelated artist profile, add search terms to artist names or claim participation that did not occur. Confirm permissions, approved audio and accurate credits. Avoid paid services guaranteeing streams or manipulating listening. A large catalogue does not justify weakening the review of each recording.

Hold uncertain releases for review

Assign an accountable reviewer and retain the decision for the exact master. Ask DistroBolt about the specific rejection or policy question rather than repeatedly resubmitting altered copies. No numerical spam threshold, automated approval or guaranteed acceptance is offered here. Quality control supports legitimate releases; it is not a detection-evasion process.
