DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES

Document permission for an AI voice or digital performer

An AI voice or digital performer needs a permission and identity review tied to the intended use. Access to voice recordings or a cloning tool is not, by itself, authority to imitate a person commercially.

Identify the voice and authority

Record whose voice is represented, who supplies the samples and who can approve the use. Keep the exact tool and method with the project. Do not infer permission from a public interview, a purchased recording or the person’s status as a celebrity.

Define the consent scope

Document the proposed recordings, languages, lyrics, platforms, advertising, duration and any restrictions or revocation questions. Separate creation of a model from publication of each use. Have appropriate professional review for sensitive, disputed or deceased-person situations rather than using a generic consent checkbox as universal authority.

Follow the tool’s verification rules

ElevenLabs’ official policy addresses unauthorised voice or identity imitation, and its cloning tools include verification requirements. Those conditions are product-specific and may be stricter than a private permission. Do not bypass verification or assume one cloning method permits the same uses as another.

Keep the final use truthful

Retain approvals, final audio and disclosure decisions. Do not present a generated performance as an unapproved collaboration with a real person. Ask DistroBolt about current identity and AI delivery requirements before submission. This guide does not create consent, verify a person’s authority or guarantee acceptance of a cloned voice.
