ARTIST PROFILES

Is your music on the wrong artist profile?

Collect the correct and incorrect profile links, identify the affected releases, and contact DistroBolt if we delivered the music. A shared artist name can lead to releases appearing on another artist’s page. Keep the problem separate from an artist-name change or a rights dispute: they need different information.

This guide helps you prepare a useful correction request. It does not submit a request to a store or guarantee a correction date.

1. Identify the exact problem

Check each affected service separately. Correct placement on Spotify does not establish that Apple Music or another service is also correct. If a release has not gone live yet, tell us its planned release date and what you can already see; do not describe an unavailable page as a confirmed live error.

2. Put the relevant links in one message

A useful starting message includes:

A screenshot can help show the issue, but links identify the pages more reliably. Crop unrelated personal information. Do not include account passwords, one-time login codes, payment information or identity documents in the first message.

Ask DistroBolt to review the mix-up.

If DistroBolt delivered the affected release, send the links and release details to our team. If another distributor delivered it, tell us which one so we can help you identify the appropriate next step.

Email DistroBolt about an artist-profile issue

Ordinary support is free. You do not need to buy a creative Marketplace service to ask about a profile mix-up.

3. Check the platform’s available reporting route

Spotify’s official guidance provides a content-mismatch reporting route in Spotify for Artists. Apple Music for Artists provides a contact route for artist-catalogue issues. The available route depends on the platform and the access you already have. DistroBolt does not claim to be a Spotify preferred distributor, and this guide does not promise a special correction tool inside your DistroBolt dashboard.

If you have already reported the issue to a platform, include the case reference when contacting us. That gives the team context and helps avoid conflicting instructions.

4. Avoid changes that may create a second problem

Do not delete and re-upload a release solely on the assumption that it will repair the artist mapping. Do not invent an ISRC, rename the artist or create replacement metadata just to bypass the issue. Ask which change is appropriate before submitting another delivery.

If the problem involves music you do not own, suspected impersonation or a disputed claim, explain that separately. A profile-placement correction is not a decision about ownership.

5. Recheck the release and the artist page

After a correction is confirmed, check the affected release, the intended profile and any other services you reported. Let us know if a specific link is still incorrect. We cannot promise preserved statistics, followers, playlist placement or a fixed store-processing time.

Before your next release

Keep your verified artist-profile links in your release records and check the artist roles and identifiers before submission. If you are moving a catalogue, include the links in your inventory and follow the catalogue-transfer guide.
