DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES
Prepare an editorial playlist pitch from verified release facts
An editorial pitch should help an editor understand the actual recording and release context. Prepare verified facts and a useful story without promising placement or overstating the artist’s audience.
Confirm eligibility and timing
Check the service’s current pitching requirements, intended recording and available artist-account access. Spotify documents a route for eligible upcoming music and says pitching does not guarantee placement. A brief prepared in advance is not evidence that the pitch has been submitted.
Create a factual source sheet
Record title, artist, version, planned date, relevant musical characteristics, approved contributor information and actual campaign plans. Keep evidence for achievements or press coverage. Do not invent genre connections, endorsements, tour dates or numbers merely to fit a playlist theme.
Write one coherent explanation
Explain what the song is about, how it sounds and the concrete context that helps the intended editor. Avoid a list of superlatives. A short, approved recording story can be useful when it is genuine and relevant. Keep private collaborator details and unapproved personal history out of the pitch.
Review and preserve the submission
Have the authorised artist approve the final wording and check the actual account fields. Save the submitted version and reference where supplied. Do not claim payment secures editorial consideration or placement. This guide does not access an artist account, submit a pitch or guarantee a response.
