DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES
Prepare line-by-line lyric timing for review
Prepare line-by-line timing against the final approved recording, then review the result in continuous playback. A timing sheet is a review aid until it is converted or submitted through a supported destination format.
Freeze the audio and approved text
Record the master version, duration, language and approved lyric sheet. Split the performed words into readable lines using the receiving service’s current requirements. Write repeated sections in the appropriate form instead of assuming that an informal chorus marker is accepted everywhere.
Record clear timing points
For each line, note its identifier, words, start and end in a consistent time reference. Example: an invented first line can run from 00:08.000 to 00:10.500, followed by a second from 00:11.000 to 00:13.200. These are illustrative review values, not production lyrics or a certified TTML file.
Listen through the transitions
Check the first syllable, line change, final sung word, instrumental gaps and repeated sections. Review different languages with someone who understands the performance. Note deliberate overlapping vocals instead of forcing every passage into an incorrect single-speaker model. A new introduction or edited master requires another timing review.
Validate the actual submission format
Apple and Spotify describe their supported lyric routes; use the relevant current specification before delivery. Line-level timing does not automatically provide word-level karaoke data or a video. Keep the approval and resulting destination status with the exact master. This guide does not supply an active editor, submit lyrics or confirm a WBBT timing API.
