DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES
Privacy choices for artist websites and fan forms
An artist website privacy notice should describe the processing that actually happens. Inventory forms, analytics, embeds, mailing tools and bots before choosing wording or consent controls.
Map each collection point
Record the fields collected, purpose, operator, recipients, storage location and relevant retention decision. Separate a booking enquiry from a newsletter signup. Include third-party embeds and assistant services where they process information; do not describe a system as local or AI-free without checking its implementation.
Choose appropriate controls
Review the legal basis and applicable consent or other requirements for the actual jurisdictions and tools. ICO guidance describes UK transparency duties; it is not a universal policy text. Avoid preselected unrelated marketing permissions and do not assume an email address submitted for support authorises every campaign.
Write against verified facts
Explain the actual operator, purposes, sharing, retention approach and contact or rights route as applicable. Do not invent fixed deletion periods, hosting locations or provider assurances. Seek appropriate review for sensitive or uncertain processing rather than copying a competitor’s notice.
Test before public use
Verify form delivery, access restrictions, applicable consent behaviour and unsubscribe or deletion processes where relevant. Keep the notice and implementation aligned when tools change. No privacy compliance certification, live data collection or six-bot audit is completed by this guide. Exact DistroBolt artist-site functionality remains to be verified before promises are published.
