DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES
Continuous DJ mixes: audio structure and permissions
A continuous DJ mix combines an audio structure with multiple rights questions. Confirm the catalogue permissions and supported delivery route before treating one long mix file as an ordinary single.
Map the underlying material
List every recording and musical work used, source version, transition and relevant timestamp. Keep the track list tied to the final mix. A purchased download or access to a streaming track is not itself authority to redistribute that audio inside a commercial mix.
Confirm the permissions
Investigate recording, composition and other relevant permissions for the intended uses and territories with appropriate help. Do not assume an ordinary cover licence clears copied masters. A complete track list is useful evidence, but it does not create permission from the parties named in it.
Ask about product eligibility
Apple’s style guide describes DJ mixes as a distinct continuous-play product context. Ask DistroBolt whether the actual mix and destinations are supported and what files, metadata and approvals are required. Do not infer access from another distributor or present a re-labelled long track as a way around eligibility checks.
Validate audio and reporting records
Keep the approved continuous master, boundaries or segments where requested, credits and rights evidence. Check the delivered product and relevant financial reporting without assuming automatic track-level allocations. This guide does not certify DistroBolt DJ-mix coverage, obtain clearance or guarantee uninterrupted playback.
