DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES

Test cover artwork as a small mobile thumbnail

Review cover artwork at the small size fans actually see, while retaining a master that meets the destination’s technical requirements. A thumbnail test is a design review, not a substitute for file validation.

Use the final approved export

Identify the exact cover, title and artist version. Make a review copy at several realistic small display sizes without replacing the master. Include the intended background or surrounding interface where practical; a large design canvas can hide readability problems.

Check the central message

Look for an identifiable subject, readable essential text and intentional contrast. Decide what must remain clear when fine detail disappears. A text-free design can be valid if intentional; do not add tiny keywords merely to force more information into the image.

Compare image and metadata

Confirm the artist and title information agrees with the release and does not imply an unauthorised collaborator or misleading endorsement. Apple’s artwork guidance addresses accuracy and quality. Use the actual destination’s format requirements separately from the visual test.

Approve changes and retest

If the design changes, review the exact replacement and preserve the approval history. Check important public text outside the image too so useful information is not image-only. This guide performs no image render or upload and guarantees no sales, recognition or store acceptance.
