DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES

Write a short welcome sequence for new music fans

A short welcome sequence should deliver what a fan voluntarily signed up for, identify the sender and make leaving easy. Keep the message relevant rather than starting an indefinite stream of sales pitches.

Confirm the subscription basis

Record the actual signup wording, sender, purpose and applicable permission or other lawful route. Do not import streaming followers, pre-save users or collaborators into a mailing list by assumption. ICO guidance describes UK email-marketing requirements; confirm the rules relevant to the actual audience before operating a list.

Draft a small useful sequence

An illustrative first message can thank the fan and deliver the promised content. A later message can share one approved story, and another can offer the current release link. These are planning examples, not a verified optimal schedule or a promise to send several messages to every new subscriber.

Make expectations and controls clear

Use truthful subjects, recognisable sender details and the appropriate unsubscribe route in the actual system. Avoid misleading personal replies or invented artist quotes. Keep any promised download, discount or access conditions accurate and separate from distribution-plan entitlements.

Test before activation

Verify signup, applicable confirmation, delivery, links and unsubscribe behaviour in the chosen authorised tool. Keep records appropriately and stop sending where required. Open rates alone do not establish fan loyalty or permission. This guide drafts a workflow; it does not create a list, connect email services, schedule messages or send marketing.

Continue your release planning

Ask the DistroBolt team about your release. Send a concise question and release reference; never send account passwords or verification codes.
