DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES

Submit lyrics through Apple Music for Artists

Apple Music for Artists provides a direct route to add or request correction of lyrics. Prepare the approved text first and use the current account tools for the correct song.

Confirm the artist and recording

Use an authorised account and identify the exact song, version and Apple Music link. Keep the source master and approved lyric sheet together. Do not choose an alternate recording simply because it has a visible lyrics control.

Use Apple’s documented controls

Apple directs artists to select the song under Artist Content, use Add Lyrics where available and enter formatted text. For corrections, its help describes the song’s Lyrics area and Request a Change process. Check the actual current interface and available access rather than assuming every team role sees the same controls.

Prepare a focused submission

Follow the relevant formatting guidance and compare the text with the actual performance. Explain the exact correction and retain the submitted version. Do not include contact details, production notes or unapproved translations as if they were sung lyrics. Verify any rights question separately from transcription accuracy.

Review status without promising display

Apple’s guidance distinguishes submission from decisions about use and stylistic presentation. Static lyrics do not guarantee time-sync, translation or pronunciation features. Keep any case reference and verify the intended public song. This guide does not submit on the artist’s behalf or certify that DistroBolt has a separate Apple lyric API.
