DISTROBOLT ARTIST GUIDES
Read music campaign results without confusing clicks with fans
A campaign report should distinguish exposure, clicks, destination actions and genuine platform listening. Do not turn an inexpensive click or an estimated reach figure into a verified new fan.
Define each metric
Record the reporting platform, time window, currency and exact event. Impressions, unique reach, link clicks, page visits and outbound clicks are different quantities. Keep the source definition with the report so a later reviewer can reproduce the comparison.
Calculate only compatible ratios
In a hypothetical report, 20 link clicks from 1,000 impressions gives a 2% click-through ratio for those defined counts. If EUR10 was spent on those clicks, the model cost is EUR0.50 per click. Neither calculation establishes cost per listener, fan or purchase.
Check listening separately
Spotify has its own stream-counting rules and artist analytics. A smartlink click does not prove the destination loaded, the intended track played or a qualifying stream occurred. Even concurrent increases in clicks and listening do not automatically prove individual or causal attribution.
Explain limits and next actions
Record missing data, consent-related gaps, different time zones and changed creative. Compare a relevant objective rather than selecting only the best-looking metric. Keep financial outcomes tied to statements, not ad dashboards. This guide does not connect analytics accounts or certify a campaign’s actual results.
